Week 7 Yearbook

Hello All,

Our first deadline is this Monday, yes, even though it's over break, so students are working furiously to complete their pages.

I've gone through and caught up on grading over the weekend because grades are due today and will be send home on Friday.  Some students have not been turning in their work!  At the end of the day, what is most important is that they are finishing their pages, as those are the biggest grades we'll have.  But if they aren't doing their work now, I worry about their pages being done and meeting the standard.

If you need extra time with the computers this week, let me know--I can get here early and stay late, if I know you need to work.  I might even be able to procure a few pizzas...

My goal is for us to have an awesome book, but the book is only as awesome as our students' effort.  Let's go team!

Week 7 9th Lit

Hello all!

Grade reports will go home on Friday this week, and grades will be finalized for the report today.  Students will have an remediation opportunity over the break.  I'll be sending that home later this week.

This week we're going to read "The Necklace" and "Cask of Amontillado" and write a Constructed Response in class.

When we come back from break we'll be finishing the unit with "Scarlett Ilbis" and having our test towards the end of that first week back.

Block Scheduling really has us moving forward quickly...

9th Lit Homework

Hi everyone,

You can check out the example annobib we came up with in class on the resources page.  It's just the annotation part, but you should have the rest because we did it together in class.

Your homework is to complete this form and be ready to research in the Media Center tomorrow:

9th Lit Week 5

Hi Everyone!

Next week we're going to be in the Media Center on Tuesday, so you need to get your research topic approved on Monday in class.  If you don't pick one by Monday, your teacher will pick one for you.  Don't make me pick one you may or may not care about--we want you to research something you do care about.  Come in on Monday with a social issue that you would like to research.

We will also start our next unit, consisting of a variety of short stories, starting with "The Most Dangerous Game" on Wednesday.  Check out the calendar for more details.

Happy Friday!
