10th World Lit:
Semester Extension forms came out today. Please sign and return them by next Thursday. I'd like to get forms back from all students--I'd much rather have and not need, than need and not have.
Speaking of not needing, 10th World Literature students are being given 3 opportunities to recover their grades.
Opportunity #1—Students need to look at their
Parallel Reading Scores on turnitin.com. Due Monday, 12/16 they will need
to write a reflection for each section of the rubric in which they scored below
meets. The
full instructions can be found here. I highly recommend that every
child write a reflection. If they have not yet turned in their Parallel
Reading Book Review, yes, you still may.
Opportunity #2—Errand passes are finally due for
extra credit. As per the syllabus, it is the end of the semester.
Errand passes and red tickets are due on Monday 12/16.
Opportunity #3—I have been given approval to offer
the following grade recovery opportunity. I will match your score on the
Midterm Exam to your lowest Summative grade. For example, if you earn an
82 on the Midterm, and you earned a 54 on the Archetype test, I will change
your Archetype test score to that 82. Please utilize the
study guide, and the resources on the Resource page of the blog.
I really hope that your child will utilize these
opportunities to succeed to their highest ability in this class. My
highest hope is that these opportunities will help your student to increase
their grade.
We have only one assignment left--the Parallel Reading Presentations and the audience reflection that students should be writing during the presentations.
