Week 4 and Unofficial Progress Report Sent Home

Hello Everybody,

Today we sent home an unofficial, just for American Lit, progress report.  This is so you can see how you are doing in the class so far.  Since we are half way to the first official progress report, I don't want there to be any surprises.  The report is up-to-date, excluding today's vocabulary quiz, and the Summer Reading Essay.  I'll get those done as quickly as possible and get those into Pinnacle as well.

I expect this progress report to be signed and returned to the "Signed" folder in your class's In-Box.

Coming Up This Week:

Finishing the Declaration of Independence.
Tuesday in the Writing Lab to work on your Persuasive Essays (due the following Tuesday) (Homework only if you don't finish in class).
The Beginning to 1800 Unit 1 Test was moved to Thursday, to give you a couple more days to study, however, we'll also be beginning our Research Unit this week.  This week we'll cover MLA style, the Works Cited Page, and have a Webquest (that will appear on this very blog!) while in the Media Center on Friday.

All of the notes, handouts, and study questions for the Unit 1 Test are already posted on the Research Page.  The MLA notes and the Rubric for the Giant Research Project will go up over the course of the week.

Because we'll be in the Media Center on Friday, and class will be shortened due to the Pep-rally, we're moving the Vocabulary Unit 3 Quiz to Monday, 2/6, in order to get the most out of our Media Center time.
